2026 CWA Day

9AM to Noon: New Waterfowl Hunter Informational Seminar. If you are new to waterfowl hunting and are wondering how to get started, this is the session for you. Our experienced hunters will teach you the basics of waterfowling including the necessary gear, how to find public hunting spots, and (most importantly) how to stay safe. This seminar is offered in cooperation with the State of Connecticut Hunter Education Program. Noon to 5PM: Tag Sale. Bring your unwanted hunting and outdoor gear and browse or swap with others. Folks wishing to attend early to lay out their gear can come to set up at 11AM.

Noon to 1PM: Enjoy a free, smoked BBQ picnic dinner courtesy of the CWA. Network with other hunters and meet potential hunting partners. 

1PM to 5PM: We are looking for speakers who can give short seminars on topics including but not limited to proper shotgun fit, basics of wing / clay shooting, hypothermia awareness and water rescue situations, and other topics. If you would like to contribute towards those topics, please contact us. The GSA 5-Stand course will be available to practice shooting in advance of the season for $10/round. Anyone wishing to shoot must bring their own shotgun and ammunition size 7.5 shot and smaller.
