New CT Law: "If Found" Stickers for Unregistered Vessels

Effective May 20th, 2026, all unregistered vessels, including kayaks, canoes, stand-up paddleboards, rowboats, and other paddlecraft used in the State of Connecticut must display the owner's name and contact information. This change in the law was intended to provide a means to contact the owners of vessels which may have floated off or been left unattended prior to initiating search and rescue efforts unnecessarily. Affixing contact information is most commonly accomplished through the use of orange coast-guard stickers. CWA has procured a limited number of these stickers which it will provide for free to members as well as any individual who has purchased a current 2026 Connecticut Duck Stamp. Fill out the contact form below with your name, email, and address and we will send them out while supplies last.
